Hamworthy Pumps expands UK activities

An increased focus on client management and technical support service as well as local storage of products will ensure that European customers will receive even better service.
Hamworthy Pumps is strengthening its UK operations with an expansion of its Poole capabilities. The new investment will include an improved ERP system and local storage of products and spare parts.
According to Aftersales Director Simon Robinson, the investment is part of an ongoing commitment to provide additional regional expertise, services and support to Hamworthy Pumps’ UK and European customers.
“We are committed to helping our customers with their increasingly complex projects by offering skilled and experienced staff and products which are available locally,” says Simon Robinson.
Will help meet growing demand
The department in Poole currently has about 20 employees. New resources will gradually be added to the staff in line with the expected growth in the UK and the EU. The positive expectations are not least related to the UK shipbuilding industry, the cruise line industry and the defence markets.
“The investment in the capabilities of our Poole facilities, together with the technical support staff, will help meet the growing demand for our Hamworthy Pump solutions and services for projects in the UK and Europe”, says Simon Robinson.
The expansion in the UK supports the overall business plan for Hamworthy Pumps, which was re-established as an independent brand following a change of ownership in the autumn of 2018. With a new strategy, Hamworthy Pumps is directing a stronger focus on customers, including shorter lead time and a stronger setup for service, support and aftersales.
